I am an experienced singer and qualified music teacher based in Ormskirk, Lancashire.
Do you need vocal tuition to prepare for auditions, exams or performances?
Or do you just want to sing better in the bath or at karaoke?
Whatever your ambition, age or level of experience you can be assured of professional teaching with a relaxed, unpressured approach.
I currently teach students from all over the North-West of England from Carlisle to Crosby, Salford to Liverpool and including Southport, Tarleton, Formby, Ormskirk, Aughton, Burscough, Rufford and Mawdesley.
I began work as a classical wedding soloist at the age of 12. Now I perform with The Jukes and Rock of Ages – two great functions bands (rock, pop and country) and Berekeley Square – a sublime jazz quartet. (See Weddings / Parties).
Lessons also available over Zoom or Skype.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of my work is singing at Weddings and Civil Partnership Ceremonies. Based in Ormskirk and available for weddings and events throughout the North West. I pride myself on offering an individual service and helping people to choose music that will make their ceremony extra special and memorable.
I am a qualified music teacher & vocal tutor [MusB (Hons), PGCE] based in Ormskirk . I have taught in schools, specialist Performing Arts Colleges & Music Departments around the North-west (including the University of Liverpool) for the past twenty years whilst also running a busy private singing teaching practise.
Dear Polly, I’m so grateful for your patience in helping me find an alternative to “Here Come The Bride.” It just wasn’t ‘me.’ All the music we finally chose just felt perfect for us and our less than conventional wedding. Thank you for making it so special, Love Kay & Jon x x
Dear Polly & Phill, Thank you both so much for stepping in at the eleventh hour and saving our Christmas event. We had feared a grand flop this year when everyone started dropping with flu! We might have been fewer in number but your 1960s show hit just the right note with our members and it was lovely to see revellers old and young dancing the night away. Yours sincerely, Mrs. P. McLean
Hi Polly, Just a quick note from gorgeous NZ to say thanks a million for singing at our wedding. I still can’t believe you already knew our special Maouri song!! Best wishes, Karen & Matt x
Dear Polly, Thank you so, so much for your beautiful singing at our wedding. Hearing your voice soaring around the church gave me goosebumps! It meant so much to us that you were able to sing in both languages during the signing of the register as it was an extra special way of making Kurts family feel welcome in the UK and included in the ceremony. His whole family were touched by that detail, but Kurt’s mum in particular has kept mentioning how special it was. Much love, Hannah & Kurt x x x
I wanted to learn to sing but found the prospect daunting, Polly’s friendly, supportive style and her knowledge and professionalism made it easy for me to learn and achieve my goals, and just as importantly, fantastic fun.
Just a note to say thank you for all the liasing and planning for my husband’s party. I am sure it is going to be a lovely afternoon. My daughters and granddaughter are really excited. We have not let anyone know, so the jazz trio will be a lovely surprise for my husband and all our guests. Many thanks to you all.
Dear Polly, Thank you so much for a great six months of ‘Singing for Fun.’ Wednesdays won’t be quite the same for me… but I do hope we will continue in September / October. All my best wishes.

Dear Polly, This is to say a very special thank you for your expert tuition. You unlocked the key to learning about music and truly understanding it. I cannot believ that I have absorbed so much from you during the last twenty week, even at my age (21!!! I wish!). You have been an inspiration and I’m only sorry that I didn’t know you when I was young. I have thoroughly enjoyed the course and my confidence is building daily, all thanks to you. With warmest wishes and every blessing,

Dear Polly, Thank you so much for helping me to achieve a Distinction in my Grade 7 Musical Theatre Singing Exam! Thank you also for improving my singing voice so much. I have sung since I was a small child but my family and friends have all noticed a huge difference (as have I) and that’s all because of you! Thanks again! Hope you have a fantastic summer and I look forward to seeing you again in October!
